Dolomite

1. Construction Industry

This is the largest use of dolomite. Crushed dolomite is used as aggregate in concrete and asphalt, and as a base material for roads due to its hardness and durability.

2. Steel Industry

Dolomite is used as a flux in the smelting of iron and steel. It helps to bind impurities (such as silica and alumina) into a slag that is easily separated, thus improving the purity of the steel.

3. Agriculture

Dolomite is used as agricultural lime to neutralize soil acidity (liming) and to provide essential nutrients for plants, namely calcium and magnesium.

4. Glass Industry

Dolomite is an important raw material in glass manufacturing. It acts as a stabilizer, improving the glass's durability and reducing its tendency to crystallize upon cooling.
