1. Petrochemical Industry

Zeolites are vital catalysts in the refining of crude oil, particularly in the process of fluid catalytic cracking (FCC), which converts heavy oil fractions into gasoline and other fuels. This is the largest use of zeolites globally.

2. Detergents & Water Treatment

Zeolites are used as a phosphate substitute in laundry detergents to soften hard water by trapping calcium and magnesium ions. In water treatment, they are effective at removing ammonia ions and heavy metals.

3. Agriculture and Farming

Zeolites are used as a soil conditioner to improve water retention and nutrient exchange, which helps plants absorb fertilizers more efficiently. It can also act as a slow-release fertilizer.

4. Animal Feed

Zeolites serve as a natural anti-caking agent and mycotoxin binder in animal feed, which helps to improve the health and productivity of livestock.

5. Gas Separation and Odor Absorption

Due to their uniform pore structure, zeolites are used to separate gases based on molecular size, such as separating nitrogen from oxygen. They are also a common component in air filters and odor absorbers.
